About

My teaching career began at The Birchwood Center in Nyack, NY in 2000 and continued for 20 years until it closed due to the Covid-19 crisis. In addition to my many workshops there, I was also a faculty member of the Birchwood Center’s Teacher Training Program for 7 years.

I began my Zoom classes in April of 2020. Rather than finding it difficult, it's been a wonderful development of my teaching. The classes have a warmth and intimacy none of us could have anticipated.

I have taught Basic, Level I/II, Gentle Yoga, and private classes. I have developed and lead numerous workshops, study groups, meditation circles, and posture clinics.

From 2010-2022, I was an adjunct professor at Bronx Community College (BCC) teaching Stress Management and Intro to Hatha Yoga.  At BCC, teaching students completely new to yoga, my appreciation for the usefulness and power of yoga deepened tremendously.  Students gradually tune into their bodies and discover that deep inner listening leads to healing and taking ownership of their lives.

I have also taught doctors, nurses, teachers, and staff members at Rockland Country Day School, Rockland Psychiatric Center, and The United Hospice of Rockland.

I have attended a variety of trainings and educational retreats with many excellent teachers including Sandra Anderson, Erich Schiffman, Shari Freidrichsen, Yoganand, and Judith Lasater, among others.

Certifications:

  • 200-hr E-RYT in 1999-2000 through the Open Center in NYC with Jeff Migdow

  • Restorative Yoga with Ellen Pfeffer in 2005
