About
Julie has been teaching yoga for 20 years. She has taught Basic, Level I/II, Gentle Yoga, and private classes as well as developing and leading numerous workshops, study groups, meditation circles, and posture clinics.
Her teaching career began at The Birchwood Center in Nyack, NY in 2000. She taught 6 classes/week until it closed due to the Covid-19 crisis. In addition to her many workshops, Julie was also a faculty member and Assistant Director of the Birchwood Center’s Teacher Training Program for 7 years.
Since 2010, Julie has been an adjunct professor at Bronx Community College (BCC) teaching Intro. to Hatha Yoga and Stress Management. At BCC, teaching students completely new to yoga, her respect for the usefulness and power of yoga deepened tremendously. Students gradually tune into their bodies and discover that deep inner listening leads to healing and taking ownership of their lives.
Julie has also taught doctors, nurses, teachers, and staff members at Rockland Country Day School, Rockland Psychiatric Center, and The United Hospice of Rockland.
She has attended a variety of trainings and educational retreats with many excellent teachers including Sandra Anderson, Erich Schiffman, Shari Freidrichsen, Yoganand, and Judith Lasater, among others.
